We only need a small amount of breastmilk—around 5-10 ml (one to two teaspoons) is typically enough for each piece. We can work off as little as 2mls if required.

Yes! We can incorporate other meaningful materials like a lock of hair, placenta powder, or even an umbilical cord piece. Each inclusion is carefully preserved and added to your jewellery to create a truly personalised keepsake. Email us before purchase if you would like to add these in.

9. Can I use old milk, spoiled or expired frozen milk?

Yes, expired frozen or spoiled milk is totally fine. There is no limit on how old it can be. Spoiled, old, and otherwise considered "bad" milk is still usable. Breastmilk does not need to be fresh for use but please thaw before sending.

10. How do I determine my ring size?

Choosing the correct ring size is essential, as each piece is custom-made to order and cannot be resized after completion. We recommend using a ring sizer - available in our store or visiting a local jeweller for an accurate measurement.

Please note that it’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure the correct size is provided when ordering, as adjustments cannot be made once your ring is crafted.

No refunds, returns or exchanges will be given for incorrect size.

Understanding Our Metals

Our collection is made with 925 Sterling silver, recycled sterling silver and Gold filled metal.

Below you will find a breakdown of the metals we use, to help you when choosing your keepsake.

Our Metals

What is 925 sterling silver?
Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. In this form the metal is beautiful and suffers from minimal tarnish, but it's generally too soft and malleable for many uses, including making most silver jewellery.

Instead, fine silver is alloyed with copper to create sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% base metal. This percentage of fine silver is why you will sometimes see sterling silver referred to as '925 silver' or hallmarked with a 925 stamp.

The base metal makes the silver harder, more durable and therefore much better to work with and use, but without compromising on colour. Most silver jewellery that you buy and wear will be sterling silver.

What is gold filled?
Gold Filled jewellery is not the same as gold plated jewellery. It contains 5% of solid gold, and is done by a process of heat bonding. The layer of gold is permanently bonded with heat and pressure onto the base metal (usually brass, or sterling silver). Unlike plated or “dipped" metals, Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. This 5% is then described by the karat-age of the gold alloy. Usually made with 14k gold, gold filling is hard wearing. With reasonable care it will not peel or flake, and should last as long as solid gold jewellery. It is safe for most people with metal allergies. Excessive moisture when stored can reduce the lifetime of the piece.

Essentially it is an affordable alternative to solid gold, and with the correct love and care, Gold-Filling should last as long as, or close to pure Gold.
